Interesting Fact
Well, I (Jeremy) woke up this morning at 5am with a bad stomach ache. So, I decided to look up stats on ESPN. Fun times I know. Here's an interesting fact: The Cincinnati Reds has four players that are in the top 20 in Home Runs (NL)...Dunn (2) Griffey (3) Brandon Phillips (13) and Alex Gonzalez (17). So why are they dead last? Could it be because Adam Dunn has already struck out 98 times? Or maybe because not one starter is batting 300? And don't get me started on the pitching. Anyways, this is what I do when I'm sick...I think about such things. Now, I'm going to try to go back to bed and sleep a little before heading to church for SPRING CLEANING DAY!

Movie Review
Evan Almighty is a must see. Very well done. Evan's character development was done very well, not to mention the fact that it wasn't a cheesy Christian movie. Very good. Hope you all go see it.
Jessica and I had a very busy day. I bought a car today. Tomorrow we'll have some pics. It's a 2007 Mazda 3. Silver. I love it. GREAT DEAL. They made a mistake and had to honor the contract...basically hooking me up. I'm very excited. Anyways, I'm going to bed. Bye.

Something Else
Well, I decided to blog mainly cause I'm sick of logging onto blogger and seeing REST IN PEACE. I'm back from Cincinnati. It was good to see friends, although I hope next time is on a more positive note and I can spend some more time there. Got to eat lunch with Justin and Bethany which was great. Got to talk a little with BJ and Jessie (thanks for letting me stay over :-) which was great. Got someone to mow the yard while I'm gone...thanks Katelyn...which was great. Had to spray weed killer after preaching in the morning and then driving 4 hours and meeting with a hurting family...that sort of sucked. Yard work sucks...and it sucks more when you are tired.
Anyways, got to talk to a good friend on the phone just a little bit a go and it made me happy...so I thought I would check my blog...and that made me sad...so now I'm changing the previous post so I'm not sad when I get on the blog...there you go...have a nice day.

Rest in Peace
We got a call today on our way to a friend's wedding that Daisy was sick. After the wedding we found out she has Parvo. Parvo is a very serious disease that dogs can get. So, we didn't have any choice but to put her to sleep. I was with her when she died and it was very peaceful. Jessica is taking it pretty hard, we both feel really awful that we gave her friend from work a sick dog. But there really wasn't anyway to know. Anyways, it was a very sad evening.
On another sad note, our thoughts and prayers are with Barb Boling's family as they mourn her passing. Barb was an wonderful woman of faith and her loss has been very hard for Jess and I. I'm headed to Cincy this weekend to do the funeral. All in all its been a very sad weekend. And I don't have much more to write.

She's gone *Sniff Sniff*
This has been one heck of a week. I've had my stuff stolen at work, lots of hectic thnigs happening with kids at work and lots of headaches to deal with. In case you guys are wondering, Daisy has found another home. My co-worker came and picked her up and I think that she had a really good night with them. It looks like they are going to keep her which is really great for everyone. Our life will be easier, they love her already, and she's happy there. It's still a little tough - o.k. I cried - but I know this is best. She is soooo cute and I miss her but Leo does seem happier. Who knew that he is could be so sensitive!

Phone Update
O.K. So I got the phone back. This kid stole it and took the battery off, wrapped it in a paper towel and hid it in a trash can to get it later. Once he found out that we called the police he fessed up. The phone is fine and is working except we had the service cancelled immediately just in case someone tried to make calls. Sooo, we now need to find out if I can have my old number back. If not I'll send a mass e-mail w/my new number. Whew-- I am ready to go home!!!!!!!!
Not a Good Day

Updates
Hello all of you in blogging land. Here are a few updates from over the weekend...
Yes, we still have Daisy. There was a couple who was supposed to come look at her last night and never showed or called. So, Jessica asked today and they are still thinking about it. So, we still have a puppy.
Saturday our house was shown and the couple liked it a lot. So, they are supposed to clean up their house, put it on the market, and then place a contingient offer on ours. We'll see where that goes. At this point, anything is better then nothing.
I threw out my back at Powerzone Soccer Camp. It hurts sooo bad. I've considered going to the doctor, but a few of my friends have told me otherwise...it's probably swollen and pinching the nerves...rest up, don't lay on your stomach, and let it heal. I don't know what to do. I'm just tired and hurt. Now would be a good time for a pitty party for Jeremy. All are invited.
If I can get off the couch tonight, I'll post some pics of this puppy that has invaded our lives :-)

Might Have Found a Home
Well, Jess might have found a home for Daisy. She has a friend at work who is coming by tonight with her boyfriend to look at her. Jessica, of course, is very sad. She's been sleeping with her at night and they are starting to get close. However, this is probably best for the puppy and for us. We have enough problem as it is traveling around with Leo. We'll let you know what they decide.
Meanwhile, this is VBS week at CCC. Actually, its called Powerzone Soccer Camp. At first I had a lot of questions about why we weren't doing a traditional VBS. But, we've actually drawn a few families that might not have normally come if it was a traditional VBS. Specifically, we have a lady who's daughter is in the preschool class. She was raised Buddist and her husband is Agnostic. WOW! So, I applaud our youth minister for thinking outside the box. We've drawn about 25 kids a night so far...twice as many as last year. He's done a good job so far...but there's always much to improve on for next year.
Well, hope you all have a great rest of the week...

Everything is falling apart!
Ok, so two days after my computer breaks down, my car decided to do the same thing. Yes, the car that I got when out shopping for a truck. Anyways, I normally am very good at keeping up with maintenance. Every 30,000 I get spark plugs, pcv valve, fuel filter, trans flush, etc and that's why I have never broke down in 125000 miles. Well, when the car turned 120k we were sort of short on cash...you know the whole house won't sell ordeal...anyways, I didn't get it done. So, five thousand miles later, the hose attached to my pcv valve tore off and I had to get it replaced today...along with a pcv valve, spark plugs, fuel filter...you get it. Hopefully, that will be the last thing to break down.
On a positive note...it could have been much worse. And, I know a guy who knows a guy who's going to look at my hard drive to see if we lost all of our pics. AND last night we didn't think our chocolates were compatible with our new mac...but today I learned that its as simple as changing the m4a format to a mp3 format. DUH! I should have known that! HA! You all have a great week...blog at you later.

Lots to share
Well this is the new batch of pictures we are working on. Of course this is our new puppy Daisy. We haven't found her owner, so I'm going to start looking into rescues. Anyways, this morning I got this feeling that I needed to save our pictures, because the computer has been acting up. Well, as I was updating our picture cd, we lost 863 of our digital pictures, because our wonderful dell pc's hard drive died. It made the clicking noise of death and then went kaput...corrupting the cd that was in the cd rom. So, I'm taking the cd and hard drive to church and hopefully we can see if anything was saved.
So, we went to the mall today and bought a new computer. Its a MacBook. I'm really excited. Apple gave me a GREAT student discount. The only problem we are having is finding a driver for our dell printer. I don't have high expectations for that, but we don't use it often...so its all good.
Our Kodak easy share printer also broke today. The cartridge got stuck. So, I took it apart and got it fixed. Fun times. I've dun gooder with my English since I moved to TN. Alright, I'll leave you with this wonderful picture I took of myself on my iCamera...

I Got Duped!
Dictionary.com best describes duped: –verb (used with object) 3. to make a dupe of; deceive; delude; trick. That's exactly what happened to me. A month ago a lady came by the Church and asked for 20 dollars to fill up her gas tank. Her mom broke down on the NC and TN border and she needed to go pick her up. The problem: she's on disability and wasn't receiving any money until Monday and didn't have enough gas to get to NC and back. It was a Sunday, I had a few extra minutes, she showed me her scar, and so I decided to take her down to the local Pilot and fill up her tank. WELL, guess who showed up today at Church? So, I walked out of my office to meet her, I recognized her, and expected some kind of testimony or update on her mother's situation. Nope, she had a new story about a trip to Corbin to help out her daughter. She once again wasn't getting paid because of disability, needed money for gas, and showed me her scar. WOW! Con-artists really should keep track of who they've conned. At least she changed her story.
Almost daily, I receive phone calls for assistance here at the Church. What I have come to find out is that the majority of these individuals have abused community and non-profit resources and now have no other option except to open the phone book and call the churches. I'm not writing this to downplay the very sad reality of poverty, homelessness, and hunger, but to show the very sad reality of folks who abuse the system making it difficult for those with real needs to obtain help. Luckily, we are connected with a very good source that I can direct callers to and that I don't have to determine who's a fake who has a real need. Obviously, I can't tell the difference.

What a weekend!
Before I start on my weekend...HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHERYL!
Thursday night I realized that a project that needed to be done at the house would only get done this weekend. I have a wedding this upcoming weekend and then VBS. So, Friday morning I ordered some rift-raft rocks and headed to Cincinnati. This is a picture of the finished product. In my head 8 tons wasn't that much rock. WOW was I wrong.
I also had to do some yard work. Because of the harsh winter and drought we lost both our rhododendron and our hibiscus. My backyard hadn't been mowed in a month, so the grass was up to my thigh. It was much more work then I anticipated.
I want to say a special thank you to BJ and Tim for helping me with the project. I wouldn't be home right now if it wasn't for them...I'd probably still be working.
One more thing...I came home to this! Leo got a haircut while I was gone. He really does look better...not like a bald man. And his fur isn't nappy...that's all for the weekend. I'm going to try to relax before our church picnic tomorrow.
