Look what we found!

Tonight Jeremy and I were on our way home from church and there was a dog about to get hit on a busy road. We could see the dog didn't have a collar and it was scared and confused. So we pulled over and Jeremy opened the door and this little puppy jumped into our car like she's known us forever. She hopped in my lap and started kissing me and then looked at us like "Great! Let's go home!" So we brought her home. We pulled up and Leo scared her at first but then they started playing together and having fun. We walked her next door so our neighbor/landlord/vet could take a look. He said she is about 4 months old and is a golden lab/pitt bull mix. She's really gentle and sweet. We're calling her Daisy. I'm trying not to get attached b/c we made some flyers that we're gonna post in the area that we found her and we're gonna call the Humane Society in case someone has been looking for her. If no one claims her then I guess we have a new addition to our family. (Amberlee - we found her near the "What's Up clothing store!!!) Here's a picture, she's sooo cute!

Murphy Visit

We had such a great Memorial Day weekend! BJ and Jessie spent their vacation here and stayed with us a couple days. We went to Turkey Creek and ate at Knoxville's Calhoun's restaurant...which was delicious on a stick. We saw Pirates of the Caribbean...which was fun. I didn't like it as much as the other two...which now makes two "blockbuster" movies that I didn't like as much as I thought I would. But, both Pirates and Spiderman are worth seeing before they hit the dollar theater...just not as good as I had expected.

Sunday we had a huge cookout at our house for our cell group. BJ and Jessie joined us and played Dance Dance Revolution...which if they will let me...I plan on posting! Here are a couple pictures from the party...

Here is Donn and Byron groovin to DDR!

It evidently was too much for Leo...

On Monday, we went to Tanger Outlets in Sevierville with BJ and Jessie and then we hiked Grotto Falls. Here are few pictures of the awesome hike...

Let me suggest

Here is a new segment I am trying out called "Let me suggest." OK, it's a horrible idea and totally stolen from the many people who have done it in the past. Anyways, I (Jeremy) gained some weight when I moved to Knoxville. Specifically, I gained 15 pounds. I know that's not that bad and really not that big of deal. However, I don't fit into my black suit anymore, and my new suit that Jessica bought me for Christmas is starting to get pretty tight. So, four weeks ago I tried my own version of the Special K diet...because Amberlee says I am special. It seems to be working so far, because I've lost 12 pounds. My goal is to lose 25 lbs so that I can were my black suit again! So, if you're trying to lose weight, let me suggest the Special K diet. I will spare you all the before and after pictures without my shirt on...I know you will all appreciate that.

Happy Birthday Jessica!

Today is Jessica's birthday. I wish I could put into words how incredibly blessed I am to be married to this woman. Tonight we are going to Texas Roadhouse with a few friends. This of course is Jessica's favorite place to eat. And she gets a free appetizer because it's her birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA...YOU ROCK!

The Best Team Money Can Buy

The New York Yankees just signed Roger Clemens to a one year 28 million dollar contract. That number makes him the highest paid player in the Major Leagues. However, the number is sort of deceiving, because he won't actually make all of that because he doesn't start for another two weeks, which got me thinking: Who are the highest paid players in baseball?

1. A-Rod 3B NY Yankees - 27.7 Million this year

2. Jason Giambi DH NY Yankees - 23.4 Million this year

3. Derek Jeter SS NY Yankees - 21.6 Million this year

4. Roger Clemens SP NY Yankees - 18.5 Million this year

5. Manny being Manny LF Boston Red Sox - 17 Million this year

That's right folks, the top four highest paid players in baseball all play for the Yankees. Behind Manny is Todd Helton of the Rockies, another Yankee in Andy Pettite, and then Bartolo Colon of the Angels. How crazy is that? I can't imagine paying one player that much let alone five on one team! And the Yankees suck this year! Anyways, just got me thinking this morning. Better get back to work.

Happy Cinco De Mayo

Today Jeremy and I saw Spider Man 3. It probably would have been a lot better if I didn't get stuck beside stupid people who don't know how to be respectful in a movie theater. It was sold out even though it was a matinee and other people were being so loud and stupid. Don't worry - I didn't go balistic and have a re-visiting of The Funny Bone night. But, yes, the movie was good. I thought there were a lot more moral themes in this one. I'm excited to be able to talk it about it to my kids at work. I know a lot of them were planning on seeing it this weekend and I think that the moral themes really apply to the issues they are struggling with. The bottom line is that we all have choices - no matter what our circumstances are. It was pretty cool. In honor of Cinco De Mayo we also ate dinner at a local Mexican resteraunt. Jeremy wore his red Mexico shirt and the waiters probably made fun of him afer we left. It was a pretty good day.

200 Posts!!!!!

This is our 200th post. YEAH! So, in honor of posting 200 times, I added a few fun items on the right side of our blog. Hangman is my favorite. Hope you all have enjoyed reading our blog.

Just Chillin

I took this cool picture of Jess last night. Don't they look cute!

This is what I'll be doing today. SCHOOL'S OUT!!!! That's right folks, no school till July 10th, where I will again be buried in school work. Only two years left.

Anyways, today I'm headed to the grocery store for Jess...cause she's a working girl now and I'm a stay at home dad. Then, I'm going to come home and have some lunch. Then, I'm going to head out to a place called Turkey Creek to shop for Jess' birthday gift. Then, if its not raining, I might play a little frisby golf or take Leo to the dog park. Hope you all enjoy your weekend.
